Welcome Message

Dear colleagues and friends,

We are delighted to welcome you to the 32nd Conference of European Comparative Endocrinologists (CECE), to be held in Barcelona from 6 to 10 September 2026.

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) under the auspices of the European Society for Comparative Endocrinology (ESCE) is working with great enthusiasm to offer a high-quality scientific program, covering a wide range of topics in comparative endocrinology and related disciplines (neurobiology, physiology, biochemistry, ecology, etc.), complemented by an engaging social program.

The CECE26 conference will be hosted at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Barcelona (UB), the same venue of the 17th ICCE in 2013. It will include Plenary lectures, Symposia featuring State-of-the-Art presentations and oral communications, poster sessions, as well as Workshops. It will bring together researchers and students from across Europe and beyond, promoting interdisciplinary knowledge in the fields of biology and medicine, particularly in the morphological, functional, and evolutionary aspects of comparative endocrinology. Over five inspiring days, we will explore cutting-edge research, foster collaborations, and share the latest discoveries and innovations in our field.

Social events organized during the conference will include a Welcome Cocktail on Sunday, a social event for young investigators or a visit to the UB’s historic building for senior scientists on Monday, excursions to various locations in and around Barcelona on Tuesday, and a Social Banquet on Wednesday.

Barcelona, a vibrant research and innovation hub known for its creativity and scientific spirit, with excellent connections, provides the perfect setting for this meeting, scientific exchange and networking. Beyond the conference, we invite you to experience Barcelona’s Mediterranean charm, cultural treasures, and world-renowned cuisine.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to a stimulating and unforgettable conference, where science, collaboration, and friendship come together.

Warm regards,

Encarni Capilla, Chair

On behalf of the CECE26 LOC
